More photos of puppies!

Video! Watch the puppies vie for a chance to nurse!

The puppies are here!

The puppies and their mom arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009. They were transported by a former Delano Animal Control officer, Rowland and his buddies. Delano is between Fresno and Bakersfield and the drive was almost five hours!

Incredible volunteers have been pitching in and helping with the daily care of the family. I am so grateful for everyone who has helped/offered to help/willing to help!

Mom has been renamed "Cokie", short for "Coquette". She is named in honor of a former foster dog who also had a large litter. She is getting a bit tired of her pups....but wouldn't you be, too, at this point? I am posting a short video I made today of the puppies all trying to nurse at once, which gives us a small glimpse into Cokie's daily tribulations. Even though she checks on them alot, she is grateful for the walks and time away from her pups.

The pups have all been tagged and numbered...every volunteer will name a puppy....and we are watching their progress. Some are black, black and tan, tan with some black and one is blue-gray. Some are larger than others, but all are healthy and thriving.
